Illustration Friday "Dance"

A dancing mouse...

In reality "dancing mice" do exist(!), unfortunately their reality is somewhat less fun than my mouse seems to be having. Dancing mice have a hereditary defect in the brain that affects their sense of balance. This causes them to reel from side to side, or run around in circles, hence their other names "reeler mice" or "spinning mice". A similar human condition is called Huntington's Disease.

I absolutely love this. It's so creative and well done. Sweet, fun, and adorable! It reminds me of the times when my cats decide to walk across my piano keyboard when I accidentally leave it open. They're not as graceful as this mouse would be.

This is deceptively simple – so much emotion in one little step, and when reading a story it becomes even a little sad.
